Married Robert Powell Oct. 31, 1906, in Yuma, CO. __________ Death came to Mrs. Robert W. Powell shortly after 9 o'clock yesterday morning at the family home northeast of Yuma after a long period of suffering from an incurable malady. Requiem mass will be sung tomorrow (Friday) morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. Wm. Coyne at St. John's Catholic church and burial will be in the Yuma cemetery. A rosary service will be held tonight at the Morris Mortuary which has charge of the funeral arrangements. Pallbearers will be Pearl Williams, Roy and John Richardson, Henry Baucke, Noel Delinger and George Sewell. The honorary pallbearers are Earl L. Fritts, Dr. H. W. Graham, Charles Van Horn and T. J. Sulivan, Sr., John Shea and Tim Sullivan, Jr., will serve as ushers. Mrs. Powell was one of the community's best loved women and while her death had been expected for some time, it nevertheless cast a pall of sadness among her many friends. She was born October 21, 1884, in Buckwena, Austria, the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Blach, Sr. Two years later the family moved to America and located on a homestead northeast of this city. The deceased was the mother of two children, Mrs. Eldon Hutt of Sedgwick and Robert A. Powell who lives at home. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by five sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Lloyd Hampsher, Mrs. Dillon Brown, Mrs. Walter Arnold and Mrs. Wenzel Landauer, all of Denver, and Mrs. Reed Petric, San Gabriel, California; Ambrose, George, Herman and Wenzel Blach, Jr., all of this community; and her father, who is in failing health at the Arnold home, and many less near relatives.--The Yuma Pioneer, Thursday, June 1, 1944, Pg. 1
