Frank Spence Is Dead After Many Years Of Illness Frank (Honey) Spence, long- time resident of this community, died last Friday, at his home. Mr. Spence had been in poor health for many years. He became seriously ill two weeks before his đeath. Rites were at the Methodist Church, at 2:30 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. W. C. Birmingham. The singers were Mrs. I. R. Dickerson and Miss Betty Humphrey, who were accompanied by Miss Ruth Savin. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. The pallbearers were Joe Disterhaupt, Fred Dunn, Emery Hickok, L. E. McDowell, John Fleming, and H. F. Bitney. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Spence and Richard Spence of Meadow Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. N. Spence, Lindsey. Obituary Frank Spence, son of George A. and Adda S. Spence, was born at Avon, Ill., on March 31 1882, and died at his home in Atkinson Neb., on May 24 1948, at the age of 64 years, 1 month, and 24 days. His father was a Civil War Veteran. When Frank was a small boy, the family moved to Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Mary Krueger, on August 18, 1906. To this union were born five children, all of whom are living. He leaves to mourn his death - his wife; two daughters: Mrs Weaver Bausch, and Mrs. Roy Woodruff, both of Atkinson; three sons: Paul, Lloyd, and Alvin, all of Atkinson; one brother, George of Atkinson; six grandchildren; and many other relatives. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters; three brothers; and one grandchild. He had been in poor health for 23 years, and was unable to work, all of that time.
