Mrs. William Petrie Dies Saturday After Many Weeks Illness Mrs. William Petrie passed away at the family home in Yuma Saturday following an illness of many weeks. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and were attended by a very large crowd of sorrowing relatives and sympathizing friends. The services were conducted by Rev. S.D. Goodale, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment was at the Yuma cemetery. Emily Comstock was born in the town of Norway, Herkimer county, N.Y. September 26, 1850, and died in Yuma, February 15, 1930. She was married January 4, 1870, to Wm. Petrie. To this union seven children were born. Hayden who died in 1908, Walter H., who died in 1886, Beulah A., who died in 1926. The living children are Albert, Reid W., Mrs. J.W. Weekly, all of Yuma and Mrs. A.E. Miller of Wray. She also leaves to mourn her departure 20 grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In 1876, she and her husband moved to northern Illinois and later to eastern Nebraska. In April 1887, the family came to Yuma and took up a homestead northeast of town, where they resided until about ten years ago when they moved to town. Mrs. Petrie was formerly a member of the Baptist church, but united with the Presbyterian church of Yuma many years ago and was a faithful consistent member to the time of her death.--Yuma Pioneer, Thursday, Feb. 20, 1930, Pg. 1
