Obituary George Broyles Kindle George Kindle Dies After Brief Illness of Pneumonia Ther Courier-Gazette, McKinney, Texas, Friday, December 29, 1972, Page 1 George B Kindle, aged 53 years, 10 months and 13 days, died at his home on South Chestnut street at 1:15 o'clock this morning after a few days illness of pneumonia. Deceased was born Feb. 16, 1869, and was a native of Collin County. On Nov. 14, 1880 he was married to Miss Maggie Stiff, daughter of W.W. Stiff. Both Mr. and Mrs. Kindle were reared some eight or nine miles southeast of McKinney, in the Higgins community. They resided on their farm about five miles southeast of McKinney until two years ago when they erected a new home and moved to McKinney. To this union was born twelve children, three of whom died in infancy. Besides his widow, deceased is survived by nine children as follows: Mrs. M.L. Linderman of Enloe; Hon. Martin Kindle, Miss Bessie Kindle, Mrs. Geo. Kennedy, Eleanor, Maggie, Esther and Sarah Kindle of McKinney and John Kindle, a student in A&M College. Mr. Kindle before moving to town was a successful farmer of the Enloe community, where he owned a valuable farm. Deceased leaves a numerous relatives and friends to mourn his death. Funeral services will be held at the family residence, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. Ben Snider, assisted by Dr. Clifford S Weaver. Following brief funeral service at the home the funeral cortege will proceed to Wilson Chapel where services will be concluded in the Methodist church. Burial will follow in Wilson Chapel cemetery. The pallbearers are as follows: Active --W.H. Worthy, W.T. Odie, J.H. Sneed, John Enloe, W.G. Krake, Sheriff Ed Blakeman, M.T. Cleveland, and J.B. Morrow. -- Honorary -- Howell E. Smith, S.J. Massie, S.D. House, H.C. Bridgefarmer, W.A. Kerby, Chas. Milligan, H.C. Myrick, Dr. M.S. Metz, Harry White, Sam Smith, L.E. Smith, Jewell Abernathy, W.T. Lovell, Newt Mott and H.A. Finch. Besides his wife and children deceased is survived by three brothers and four sisters as follows: J.L. Kindle, Enloe; M.J. Kindle and A.D. Kindle, Higgins; Mrs. Mattie Honea, Enloe; Mrs. Sarah Thomas, Kirkland, Texas; Mrs. S.A. Poston, Higgins; and Mrs. Annie Taylor, Emory, Rains County. Deceased was a son of the late M.P.F. Kindle and wife, pioneer settlers of Collin County. His mother was before her marriage, Miss Sarah Ann Finch. His father and mother were married in Lamar County. Deceased's father came to Collin County from Tennessee in about 1842. Deceased was a member of the Homesteaders Lodge.
