GALVESTON — Anton' B. Cernosek, 79, was born in Holman, Texas, November 24, 1908. He died Wednesday, September 14, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 14 at Malloy and Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 14. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. Mr. Cernosek was a retired employee of Galveston Wharves, a member of the KJT Society, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 787 and a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Galveston, two sons, John and his wife Nita of Dickinson, Tony and his wife Marilyn of Houston; two daughters, Sister Barbara Ann, O.P. and Mary Jane, both of Galveston; brothers, Cyril of La Grange, Albert of Ammannsville and Steve of Weimar; sisters, Mary Ptacek, Helen Cernoch and Louise Cernosek of" Baytown, Theresa Fee of Dickinson and Bessie Janecka of Weimar; four grandsons, Brian, Aaron, Nathan and David. Memorials be sent in memory of Mr. Cernosek to Dominican Sisters Education Fund in care of Malloy and Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be nephews of Mr. Cernosek. Galveston Daily News Sep 15 1988
