Many thanks to FAG contributor Suzan E (#46515864) CHAMBERS- Mr. and Mrs. Earl Coppoc, who farmed near Chambers for 30 years, this week observed their golden wedding anniversary at their home at 832 Seward st., Seward. A family dinner was held Sunday, January 19 at their home and open-house was observed Wednesday, January 22, from 2 until 5 o'clock. Earl Coppoc of Chambers and Pearl Peninger of Garland were married January 22, 1908, at Garland. In 1937 they moved to Seward from Chambers. He was engaged in farm work, and also worked nine years for Anstine dairy. Their children are Oliver W. of Montrose, Mich.; Mrs. Nick (Norma) Vermas of Lincoln; Loran of Ottumwa, la.; Mrs. Michael (Geraldine) Vance of Chicago. One daughter, Gwendolyn, died at the time of giving birth to a daughter, Beryl, now Mrs. Robert Heed of Chambers, who was reared by her maternal grand parents. Present for the family dinner were Loran and his wife and two sons; Nonna and her husband; a sister, Mrs. Mae Merritt of Lin and two children; Mrs. Clara coin; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beed Darnell of Seward, a cousin of Mrs. Coppoc by marriage.
