Fairfield resident, Sarah Mae (Shields) Timmerman, 76, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at her home. Sarah was born October 3, 1934 to Kenneth & Katherine (Estelle) Shields. Sarah was born in Gravity, Iowa and lived there until the age of nine when the family moved to Hastings, Nebraska where her dad was employed at the Hastings Ammunition Depot. Sarah went to Spencer Park School in grade school and junior high. She graduated from Geneva North High School, Geneva, Nebraska on May 21, 1954. She later went to Kearney and worked at Sexton Nursing Home. She met her husband at the age of 14 and later at age 20 she married Oscar Timmerman at the Church of the Nazarene in Kearney, Nebraska in October 1954. They had two children; one son, Michael of Alma, and one daughter, Deborah of Fairfield. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Timmerman; one brother; one sister; four brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law. Survivors are: Son & Spouse: Michael & Sue Timmerman – Alma, NE Daughter: Deborah Timmerman – Fairfield, NE Grandson & Spouse: James & Bridgette Timmerman – Alma, NE Granddaughter & Spouse: Kim & Shawn Vance – Phillips, NE Great-Grandchildren: Colton Vance Kathryn Vance Interment was in the Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, NE.
