Bio

Albert F. "Abbey PawPaw" Barcuch, 81, died Monday, March 2, 2009 in a local hospital. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Griffith officiating. Albert was born December 29, 1927 in Granger to John and Antoine (Dubec) Barcuch. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Albert was a heavy equipment mechanic for J. H. Strain & Sons for 20 years and for Bontke Brothers for 20 years. He also worked part-time for the Merkel Country Club. He loved his children and grandchildren. Survivors include 2 sons, David Barcuch and wife Carmen of Merkel, James Barcuch of Abilene; 4 daughters, Laurie Baker and husband Joe Bob, Kim Puente and husband Art both of Merkel, Sue Martin and husband Bill of Houston, Angela George and husband Jeff of Oklahoma City, OK; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
