Services for Johnny R. Sodek, 83, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will be noon at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Mr. Sodek died Monday, July 18, at a local nursing home. He was born in Ratibor on May 16, 1928, to Anton J. and Matilda Naivar Sodek. He served in the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines during World War II. He owned Cen-Tex Tile & Floor. His wife, Lena Beatrice Brocker Sodek, preceded him in death. Survivors include four daughters, Donna Baird and Sharon Zeinert, both of Belton, Susan Wishert of South Texas and Cindy Stary of Temple; a son, Johnny "Bubba" Sodek Jr. of Temple; a brother, Bob Sodek of Temple; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
