Bio
William L. Forde, 78, of Axtell, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011, at a local hospital. Military graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Axtell Cemetery, under the direction of Bellmead Funeral Home, with Joe Peeples officiating. William was born in Eddy, Texas, to the late Robert L. and Laura (Gibson) Forde. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. William was a machine operator at Owens Illinois for 32 years until retiring, and was a avid collector. William was preceded in death by brothers, J.B. Markum and Johnny Forde. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jean, of Axtell; step-son, Steve Scott, of Axtell; sisters, Gwen Moore, Louise Fencher, and Betty Cook, all of Robinson, and Nancy Forde, of Dallas; brothers, Jimmy Forde, of California, and Orvelle Forde, of Waco; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
