Madalaine Sofie Drudik, 88, of Fremont, formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Nye Point Health & Rehab in Fremont. Madalaine was born May 14, 1923, in rural Elyria to Edward and Martha (Dubas) Jablonski. Madalaine was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Drudik, daughter, Carolyn Rayno, and infant son, Florian. Survivors are: daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy M. Cole of Grand Island, Susan and Jeff Engel of Fremont and Don Rayno of Grand Island; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Madalaine grew up in Elyria attending District 8 School in Valley County. After her schooling, she was housekeeper for Fr. Gorak. She married Henry Drudik on Aug. 29, 1950, at Elyria. They lived in several communities before settling in Grand Island in the fall of 1953. Madalaine was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and playing cards and bingo. She was an animal lover, enjoying the company of her dogs and bird watching. Henry Drudik died in February of 1999. She moved to Fremont in 2002. While at Nye Pointe, she was involved in every activity offered. Madalaine was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island, and St. Pat's Catholic Church in Fremont. Madalaine was also welcomed into heaven by her parents, and a sister, Barbara Kennedy. Burial was in the Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island, NE.
