Alek Jablonski Alek S. Jablonski, 75, of Niles Ill., died on March 5, 1997. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John Brebeuf Church on March 8, with his grandchildren as pallbearers and honor guard. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Mr. Jablonski was born on May 8, 1921 to Martha (Dubas) and Edward Jablonski in Garfield County, Neb. He worked on the farm with his family near Elyria until he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Chicago, Ill., where he met and married Leona Stanislawski. They had been married 49 years. He worked in the electronics industry and retired in 1995. He was a member of the North American Martyrs Council for Martyrs and Hillinger Assembly, Knights of Columbus, the St. John Brebeuf Holy Name society and Skokie American Legion Post #320. Survivors include his wife, Leona; his children, Roberta Rekus, Ronald Jablonski, Martin Jablonski, Paula Hansen, Mary Beth Saraceno, Jeannine Disclafani, John Jablonski, Philip Jablonski, Alek Jablonski; 22 grandchildren, two sisters, Madalaine (Mrs. Henry) Drudik of Grand Island and Barbara (Mrs. Jack) Kennedy of California.
