Bio

He served in the Union Army and was wounded at the Battle of Lone Jack on Aug. 16, 1862. He was shot in his left thigh. He was discharged due to his injury in July 1863. Later he filed with the help of two lawyers and he received $4 disability pay per month. By the time of his death it had increased to $20 dollars a month.
