Bio

Jerome Louis Fujan, son of Louis and Christine Fujan, was born near Tobias, Neb., April 12, 1907. He passed away at his home, southwest of Tobias May 29, 1953, aged 46 years, 1 month and 17 days. Jerome was baptized in infancy in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milligan. He attended the Tobias school, graduating from high school in 1926. He was married March 29, 1932, to Miss Sylvia Kral. To them was born one son, who passed away in infancy. For four years after his marriage, Mr. Fujan engaged in farming with his father. Then, he and his wife moved to their own home, where they farmed successfully. For may years the decreased played with the Tobias Concert Band, under the direction of the late Paul W. Curtiss. Mr. Fujan was known as a good neighbor and friend. He was known and respected by the whole community. He was always ready to help whenever called upon for any task. He was a member of the board of education in his district. He is survived by his wife, his parents, numerous uncles and aunts, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the Tobias Community church, with Rev. E.E. Horner officiating. The church was overflowing with relatives and friends who came to pay their last respects to Jerome. Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery at Milligan, under a beautiful blanket of floral tributes. Pallbearers were Louis Stofer, Albert Dloughy, Anton Zavodsky, Kenneth Francis, Adolf Dlough and Joe Svajgr. The Nebraska Signal June 11th, 1953 page 7. Contributor: M. Jensen Seggerman (47078678)
