Bio

Hedvig was the daughter of Hans Nilson and Inger Nilsdatter. Born in Gjerpen, Telemark, NOrway. After her mother died , in 1864, her father emmigrated to the United States with his living children. Her siblings were : Ann Kirstine Hansdatter, Nels Hanson, Ole Hanson, Anders Hanson , Maren Hansdatter (died in Norway as infant), Martinius Hanson, and Christian Hanson. She married Carl John Olson about 1871. They had the following children: Inger Dorothea , Caroline Josephine, Hans Osker who died age 9, Hans Oscar, Henry M, and Alethe Anette Gurine Olson.
