Edith Madeline "Maddie" Craft, 79, of Idaho Falls, died March 14, 1999, at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls. She was born Sept. 22, 1919, in St. Paul, Va., to Bonham and Nora Holbrook. She was raised and attended schools in St. Paul, Va., and graduated from college at Hiwassee College in Tennessee. On April 24, 1944, she married William C. Craft Jr. They moved to Ocala, Fla., in 1962, and in 1993 they moved to Idaho Falls. For years she worked as an elementary teacher. Her husband died Feb. 24, 1996. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Her hobbies included playing bridge, golfing and dancing. Her granddaughter is Kelly E. Craft of Phoenix, Ariz., and her grandson is Bryan W. Craft of Idaho Falls. Survivors include her son, William (Lois) Craft III, of Idaho Falls; three brothers, Beuford Holbrook of Bristol, Va., and Floyd Holbrook and Howard Holbrook, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Holbrook. (Post Register, 1999)
