Bio

Floyd W. Holbrook, Sr., loving husband and father, 77, of the 500 block of Peren Ave. in Chesapeake, went to be with the Lord July 5, 2002. A native of Coeburn, VA, Mr. Holbrook was a retired Plant Superintendent with Paramount Bedding, Inc. He was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church and a US Naval veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife, Bernice F. Holbrook; two daughters, Marsha Rohrer of Muncie, IN and Kathy Forde of Orange Park, FL; a son, Floyd "Skip" Holbrook, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Linda Hudgins of High Point, NC; a stepson, Ronald Maynard of Fayetteville, NC; a brother, Buford Holbrook of Bristol, VA; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel with Pastor Johnnie Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
