Services for John Rolf, 89, Omaha, formerly of West Point were today (Wednesday), May 22,1996, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Point. Rev. Gary Ostrander officiated with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery, West Point. Pallbearers were Hollie Coghill, Gill Coghill, Brian Drueke, Todd Heyne, Robbie Hagedorn and David Nesladek. Mr. Rolf died Saturday, May 18, 1996 at Clarkson Hopsitla in Omaha from heart failure. He was born Dec. 3, 1906, in Cuming County near West Point to Gerhard and Eva (Schmitz) Rolf. He received his education at St. Anthony's Catholic School at St. Charles near West Point. He married Elizabeth Drueke on Feb. 8, 1932, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Point. They farmed near West Point until retirement when they moved to West Point. They lived in an apartmenet in West Point from 1983 to 1991, when Elizabeth died and John moved to St. Joseph's Retirement Community in West Point. In 1993, he moved to Skyline Manor in Omaha. Mr. Rolf was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus of West Point. He was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church at St. Charles. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Gertrude (Leonard) Hagedorn of West Point. Sister Dorothy Rolf, ND. Omahaa and Bonnie Heyne of Boulder City, NV.: son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jill Rolf of Omaha; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth, on Nov. 5, 1991; three brothers and four sisters and three grandchildren.
