In Loving Memory Edward "Hosey" Steverson Funeral services for Edward "Hosey" Steverson of Winnsboro, LA formerly of Bastrop, LA will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Reverend John R. Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Winnsboro, LA. Mr. Hosey was born February 2, 1922 in Laurel, MS to Benjamin Franklin and Nellie Rose Steverson and passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, LA after a lengthy illness. He was an Army veteran and spent time overseas in New Guinea in World War II. He worked for International Paper Mill in Bastrop, LA; he retired after 33 years of service in March 1984. Mr. Hosey married his wife, Carol Maxine Milton on July 31, 1946. They have been married 65 years. Mr. Hosey is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Nellie Steverson; brothers, Woodrow, Henry, Otis, Daro, and Dewey Steverson; sister, Ada Murphy and son-in-law, Alan H. Hudspeth. Survivors include his wife, Carol Maxine Steverson of Winnsboro, LA; Son, James "Jim" E. Steverson and wife, Carla of Highland Village, TX; daughter, Melinda C. Hudspeth of Girard, LA; grandsons, Jason W. Steverson and wife, Renee of Downsville, LA, Daniel B. Steverson of Arlington, TX; great grandson, Griffin W. Steverson of Downsville, LA; sister, Lena Thomas of Kountz, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be deacons of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Newt Slaughter, Pete Guimbellot, Todd Guimbellot, Jeff Collins, Douglas Givens, and Jodie Ellerman. Visitation will be 12:00 until 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
