Bio

Edward Leon Brinlee (1946-2011) Edward Leon Brinlee was born Nov. 3, 1946, he went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Dallas. He will be greatly missed. He loved life, his daughter, animals, family and many friends. He was of the Baptist Faith, he loved the Lord. He was a boat mechanic most of his life. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Army for his country from 1966-1968. He was a member if the VFW Post 2773 of Denison, and also a member of American Legion of Denison. He believed in his service, and was dedicated to honoring veterans. He received a Special Recognition for Exceptional Service Plaque From Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States 2009-2010. He is survived by his daughter Carla Kay Brinlee; five siblings and many family members. He was preceded in death by his father Larry O'dell Brinlee; his mother Lois Edith Brinlee; sister Darlene Brinlee Travis. Family night is from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday July 7, 2011 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Friday July 8 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla. He will be buried at Garden of Memory in Colbert, Okla. A dinner will be at VFW Post 2773 in Denison after the service. In lieu of flowers family request donations to be sent to Cunningham Funeral Home, PO Box 387, Colbert, OK 74733.
