Darlene Brinlee Travis (1941-2010) | Visit Guest Book POTTSBORO - Graveside services for Darlene Brinlee Travis, age 69, a Pottsboro resident, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro with Mark Price officiating. Family night will be at American Funeral Services, 4312 W. Crawford St., Denison at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Darlene went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17, 2010, after a struggle with leukemia, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. She was born on June 30, 1941. Darlene married Robert A. Travis on May 19, 1957 in Durant, Okla. Surviving are her sons, Dwight Travis of Denison and Anthony Travis of Pottsboro; brothers, Larry Brinlee of Sherman, Ed Brinlee of Cartwright, Okla., Dale Roach of Denison and Greg Worthington of Princeton; sisters, Donna Benson of Como, Texas, Marilyn Mosier of Princeton, Greg Worthington of Princeton; and four grandchildren, and her well-loved canine companion Max. Darlene was a devoted Christian of the Baptist faith. She was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loved being with her family. She enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardens and having cook-outs on the grill with family and friends. She was a caregiver in the medical field and enjoyed taking care of her elderly patients. She was also an Avon representative for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Travis, her mother, Lois Edith O'Neal and her father Larry Odell Brinlee. American Funeral Services of Denison has charge of the arrangements. Published in The Herald Democrat from July 20 to July 21, 2010
