From the Tyler Morning Telegraph February 26, 1995 L. C. RHODES PALESTINE - Services for Louis Coleman "L.C." Rhodes, 78, Palestine, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel in Palestine with the Rev. William Snidow officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery near Frankston. Mr. Rhodes died early Saturday morning in a Palestine nursing home. He was born March 19, 1916, in Anderson County to Walter and Laura Everett Rhodes and lived in the area most of his life. He worked for International Harvester in Jacksonville as a mechanic for 26 years and retired from the Long Equipment Co. in Palestine. He was a Methodist and was precede in death by a sister, Marie Gambrell, and two brothers, George Rhodes and Howard Rhodes. Survivors include his wife, Nora Brown Rhodes of Palestine; one son, Harold Rhodes of Brushy Creek; three step-sons, Terry Welch of Palestine, Jack Welch of Florida, and Gail Welch of Noonday; four step-daughters, Karen Smith Long of Lindale, Diane Smith Forbes of Lake Jackson, Delores Hopkins of New Orleans, La., and Elizabeth Crow of Van; three sisters, Louise Musemache of Houston, Donna Bell Parriah of Brushy Creek, and Mollie Holland of Calco; one granddaughter; and several step-grandchildren. Pallbearers include Billy Wedgeworth, Garald Brown, Van Brown, E.W. Southard, Milton Southard, Kenneth Thomas and Billy Cannon. Added by Joseph Lilly
