Mevy H. James, 87, of Spring passed into our Savior's arms on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Dr. Cliff Herrington officiating. Interment will follow at 12:45 p.m. in Houston National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home. Mevy was born January 28, 1920 in Pitkin, Louisiana to Della and Henry James. He served his country as Staff Sergeant in the 79th Infantry division of the U. S. Army during WWII, 1941 to 1945. He was part of the Normandy Invasion and was wounded in action in France and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He loved his God, his family, his church and his country and we cherished him. He walked with God. Mevy was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Merideth.
