A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. Comfort was born Jan. 4, 1847, in Fayette Co., Ind., daughter of John and Sarah Williams. She died Oct. 3, 1894, at her home in Maple Grove Twp., Barron County, aged 47 years, 8 months and 29 days and was buried in Wayside Cemetery. Her gravestone is inscribed "Mrs. T. A. Blassingham Died Oct 3, 1894." On April 1, 1866 Comfort married Thomas A. Blassingham at Plymouth, Indiana. Thomas was born March 9, 1842, in Connorsville, Ind., son of John D. Blassingham and Mary S. Stubblefield. He died Dec. 2, 1917, at Patterson, Madison Co., Iowa, aged 75 years, 8 months and 23 days. His remains were returned to Barron, and buried there in the family plot in Wayside Cemetery. His military style gravestone is inscribed "Thos. A. Blassingham Co. D 73rd Ind. Inf." Their children, all born in Indiana, were: Charles D., b. 17 Feb 1867; William A., b. 6 Sep 1868; Madora Belle, b. 24 Jul 1870; John C., b. 30 May 1871; Eli Lawrence, b. 12 Aug 1873; Francis H. (Frank), b. 8 Oct 1876; & Daniel James, b. 9 Dec 1878. Obituary Mrs. T. A. Blassingham, of Maple Grove, died at her home Wednesday morning, the funeral will be held today.
