Shirley Dorrah Shirley Nell (Derrick) Dorrah, 63, lost her long battle with cancer on July 20, 2007. She was the daughter of Marve S. Derrick of Hawkins County, Tennessee and Margaret G. (Wilburn) Derrick of Crane Creek, near Midvale, Idaho. She was the fourth of five children. Shirley was born on March 4, 1944 in Ontario. She spent the first three years of her life on a ranch near Lime, Ore. and later her parents moved to Baker, Ore. In 1962, she graduated from Baker High School and went to work for Leo Adler. She worked for the USFS for 30 years and retired in 1997. In 1990 she meet and later married Dennis Dorrah and together they owned and operated the York's Park Grocery in Baker City, Ore. Survivors include her husband Dennis and a son, Jeff Miller, Troutdale, and his wife Rachel and their daughter Greta, and a grandson Jacon, The Dalles. Three stepdaughters, Cathy Stewart, Cristy Kenney and Megan Dorrah, and 14 step grandchildren. Other survivors are Harley Derrick, Ontario, Lee and Susan Derrick, Payette, and Sandy and Gary Geils, Ontario. Also many nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts and loved ones in Oregon, Idaho and Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marve and Margaret, brother Tim and sister-in-law Sharon Derrick. She enjoyed doing things with all her family and especially enjoyed visiting her relatives in Tennessee. She was a very loving person. The people at MTST in Fruitland always called her "Sunshine" because of her positive outlook on life. Thank you, MSTI staff, for your loving care of a dear sister. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007, Cole's Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser.
