Graveside services, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weiser, under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, Weiser. Margaret was born July 8, 1915, in Ontario, Ore., to Tom and Nell Wilburn of South Crane Creek. She was raised on the Wilburn ranch where she spent many happy hours riding horses. It was there she met and later married Marve Derrick on Jan. 23, 1932. They lived in Weiser, Idaho, and Surgoinsville, Tenn., before moving to a ranch in Lime, Ore. After the loss of their son, Tim, they moved to Baker, Ore. She worked for the Baker Hotel in the 1950s as a banquet hostess and later followed Marve to various construction sites in the Northwest, always maintaining their home in Baker City. After Marve's death in 1988, she resided with family family members, spending the latter years, after developing Alzheimer's, with her daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Gary Geils. Margaret's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She always had a love for musio. She looked forward to the Wilburn family gatherings and the music of her cousins, especially Vernon and Harold. She is survived by four children, Harley and Sharon Derrick of Ontario, Lee and Susan Derrick of Payette, Shirley Derrick of Baker City, Sandy and Gary Geils of Ontario, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Gay Fitzgerald, of Baker City.
