Evelyn Mae Odom, 71 of Wolfden in Newton County, Texas, died on July 1, 2011 at her residence. She was born on July 9, 1939 in Polk County and had lived in Newton County for a number of years. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Love and husband, Lloyd of Trout Creek, Debbie Nichols and husband, John of Newton and Melinda Powell of Wolfden; son, Randy Odom and wife, LaDonna of Wolfden, sister, Jeanette Swearingen of Moss Hill, Tx, brother, Billy Joe Hilton and wife, Esther of Saratoga, Tx, sister-in-law, Betty Hilton of Moss Hill; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Claudia Welch Hilton, sister, Claudie Dell Layl and brothers, Thelbert Hilton and Curtis Hilton. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial to follow at Sand Ridge Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home, Newton, Texas; July 1, 2011
