Obituary from the Deseret News Thursday February 6, 2003 Douglas Earl Johnson 10/02/52-02/03/03 Douglas Earl Johnson, age 50, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away on Monday, February 03, 2003 due to injuries received in an automobile accident. Douglas was born October 02, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Earl and LaDonna Thorne Johnson. He married Susan Ancell in 1976, and had three sons. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Douglas served as a missionary in the France Switzerland Mission. He loved to spend time in the temple. Doug loved his family and was a dedicated father to his three sons. He recently retired from the Air National Guard as Commander of the 151st Services Air Refueling Wing. He was Director of Unclaimed Property for the State of Utah. He was always engaged in serving others, especially his three sons. Doug loved to take videos of vacations and his family. We love you and will miss you! Survived by his family, Jeffrey, Brian, Kevin, and Susan; parents, Earl and LaDonna; brothers, Craig and David. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Canyon Rim 3rd Ward, 3051 South 2900 East. Friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
