s/o Edward J. Boriskie and Emilie Vavra From the Bryan-College Station (TX) Daily Eagle , Tuesday, November 30, 1976, p. 6A: Hearne -- Funeral services for Leon A. Boriskie, 74, of Hearne, were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hearne with burial in the College Station Cemetery in College Station. The Rev. Robert A. Fuchs, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiated, with funeral arrangements by Heartsfield Funeral Home of Hearne. Mr. Boriskie died in the Robertson County Community Hospital in Hearne at 9 a.m. Saturday. He was born Nov. 21, 1902 in Bryan and had lived in Robertson County 14 years. He is retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Maurine Boriskie of Hearne; four brothers, Ben B. Boriskie of Bryan, Paul Boriskie of Lafayette, La., Joe Boriskie of Port Arthur, and Frank Boriskie of Murphysboro, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. V. J. Donnelly of Houston and Mrs. Charles Paradowski of Bryan. Pallbearers were Leon Stasney, Clifford Hopcus, Ray Reynolds, Bo Paradowski, John Thompson, Davis George and Herman Krenek. Honorary pallbearers were T. F. Dolney, Lewis Gressett and Billy McCord. From the Hearne (TX) Democrat , Thursday, December 9, 1976, p. 8: Dr. Dwight Dudley and E. B. Martin, a longtime friend of the family, delivered a eulogy to the life of Leon Boriskie when services were held November 29 in St. Mary's Catholic Church. In addition to information as published last week on Mr. Boriskie's services, he retired from Southern Pacific Railway on November 29, 1968 after 47 years of service and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen Lodge 180. Mr. Boriskie and the former Miss Maurine Olar Messick of Ennis and Dallas were married October 22, 1938. Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. C. E. (Bo) Paradowski, A. C. Embrey, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis M. Gressett, M. W. Messick, Mr. and Mrs. Willard J. Messick and son of Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. John D. Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Moucka of Ennis; Mr. and Mrs. Early Ray Reynolds of Kaufman; Dr. and Mrs. Paul Boriskie of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. and Mrs. Riley Messick of Fort Worth, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Stasney of Temple, Dr. and Mrs. V. J. Donnelly of Houston; Mr. and Mrs. Davis George of Wilmer, Mrs. Mansell Rainbolt of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Dolney of Bremond; Mrs. V. J. Boriskie, Herman Krenek, Will W. Boriskie, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boriskie and Mr. and Mrs. Benny Boriskie of Bryan.
