s/o Joseph Stasney of Moravia (Czechoslovakia) From the Bryan (TX) Daily Eagle , Thursday, August 11, 1949, p. 1: John L. Stasney, Route 3, Bryan, passed away at the family farm home on Wednesday afternoon about 5:20 o'clock. Born in Industry on April 14, 1874, he was 75 years of age and had resided in this community for 69 years. He was a member of the SPJST lodge and was also a Mason. He was a retired stockman and farmer. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Morgan Smith of Bryan; one son, Leon Stasney of Temple and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 4 o'clock in Hillier's Funeral Chapel with Rev. R. L. Jackson officiating. Interment was in the College Station cemetery with committal services in charge of the Adam Royder Masonic lodge of Wellborn and of Brazos Union lodge No. 129, A. F. and A. M. of Bryan.
