The Scio Tribune April 12, 1973 Macy Luttrell Dies of a Heart Attack Macy E. Luttrell, 60, died Saturday evening, April 7, 1973, of a heart attack at her residence at 231 South Main Street in Scio. Her late husband, Winston Luttrell preceded her in death, also by a heart attack, on a Saturday evening just a few months ago Born in Wray, Colo. March 8, 1913, she lived in that state until going to Nebr. where she lived from 1930 to 1950. She was married to Winston Luttrell at Lexington, Nebr. On Feb. 12, 1930. They lived in Nebr until coming to Jefferson, Ore. where they lived from 1950 to 1957, then at Eugene till in 1968 they moved to Scio. She was a member of the Scio Grange 923, Rebekahs, Pythian Sisters, and Scio Garden Club. Surviving are daughters, Ruth Root of North Platte, Nebr., Donna Lang of Gering, Nebr., Joyce Monroe of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Leota Thomas of Denver, Colo; and sons, Winston L. Luttrell of Oxnard, Cal., Wes Luttrell of Roseburg and Leon Luttrell of Idleyld, Ore., a brother, Vernon Forshey in Missouri; and five sisters, Florence, Lila, Thelma, Nell and Daisy; also 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Scio Christian Church with pastor James Matthew Alley, officiating. Organist was Mrs. James Alley, and singers were brothers Jon and Joel Wurgler, rendering two hymns ‘The Old Rugged Cross" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Bearers were Paul Miller, Dwain Hamit, Arthur Martinson, John Kimmel, Glenn Clayton, and Virgil Crow. Arrangements were in charge of Fisher Funeral Home of Albany.
