Funeral services for Janice Krueger age 71 of West Point, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Bringewatt officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Janice passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the West Point Living Center in West Point, NE. Janice Jean Uhl was born August 4, 1939 at Sioux City, IA to Joseph and Caroline (Trieber) Uhl. Janice lived with her family on the Casper Uhl farm near Mapleton, IA and attended a rural school as well as public school. In 1953 the family moved to the Charles Trieber farm a mile outside of Danbury, IA, where they made their home. Janice attended the Danbury Catholic High School. She sang in the school choir and was elected homecoming queen her junior year. After graduating in 1959, she helped care for her grandfather Carly Trieber. She moved to Sioux City, IA until meeting her husband. On November 10, 1963, she was united in marriage to Duane Krueger at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City, IA. They made their home in West Point, NE, where she worked at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital. In 1979, she became a full time employee at the West Point Living Center until she retired at the age of 65. Janice was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and participated in Ladies Aide. She enjoyed watching Husker football and watching her children grow up, and was especially fond of her grandchildren Nicole and Cody. Survivors include-Children-Loren and wife Janet Krueger of Des Moines, IA.,Kenneth Krueger of Omaha, NE.,Kevin Krueger of Omaha, NE Lori Allen of West Point, NE.,Grandchildren- Nicole and Cody Allen Sister-Karen Uhl of Sioux City, IA Janice was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter-Sheryl K, and her husband-Duane on June 9, 2010.
