A homemaker and a resident and native of Plaquemine, she passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 86. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Wednesday, June 15, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until Rite of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Cleo Milano. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by her three daughters, Marilyn Chapman and husband Thomas, of Trout, Rita Crow, of Plaquemine, and Theresa Maupin, of Spokane, Wash.; three sons, Errol Walker, of Church Point, Charles Redden and wife Sheryl, of Montgomery, Ala., and Michael Redden and wife Mindy; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Wilson Redden; parents, Joseph and Mary Dwyer Charles; sister, Hilda Perkins; and brothers, George, Douglas and Frank Charles. She was a member of the St. John Altar Society, Catholic Daughters Court St. John 1214, Hospice Association and Plaquemine Homemakers Club.
