Elizabeth was the daughter of Benjamin & Mary (Hawkins) Brown. She married Thomas Walsh on Apr. 30, 1856. Their children were: *Benjamin Walsh (Jan. 5, 1859-Jul 1, 1859) *William Thomas Walsh (Dec. 9, 1861-Jan. 22, 1871) *Mary Ann Walsh Hagerty (Feb. 2, 1863-Apr. 22, 1952) *Sarah Jane Walsh Elphic (Apr. 11, 1865-Oct. 9, 1939) *Oscar M. Walsh ( Jan. 5, 1869-Feb. 24, 1942) *Harriet Walsh (Jan. 22, 1871-Jan. 22, 1871) *John Walsh (Dec. 24, 1872-Jan. 8, 1873) *James B. Walsh (Apr. 28, 1874-Jan. 17, 1942) *Louise Prudence Walsh Sheriff (Feb. 16, 1876-Sep. 28, 1952) *Benjamin G. Walsh (Oct. 6, 1878-Feb. 10, 1963) Elizabeth came to this country with her parents in 1850 and settled at Shullsburg, LaFayette Co, Wisconsin, where the family resided until 1889 and then moved to Clay and Franklin County Iowa in 1893, her husband dying in 1899. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Kinglay Chappel, in LaFayette Co., near Shullsburg. She died at her home near Hampton Iowa, December 18 1907 at the age of 71 years 4 months and 28 days. The funeral was held at the home Saturday afternoon at 1 oclock, conducted by Rev. E.T. Gruwell, and interment was in Hampton Cemtery. She leaves to mourn her loss the following children: Mary Hagerty, Spencer, Iowa; Jennie Elphick, Herman, Minnesota; Oscar Walsh of Hampton Iowa; James Walsh of Argo, Minnesota; Louise Sheriff, of Mason City Iowa; and Benjiman at home. Elizabeth Walsh, her maiden name was Elizabeth Brown and she was a sister to Mrs. Robert Slee and B.S. Brown.
