Sarah married Hamilton DeForest Elphick on Jan. 31, 1884. They had 7 children: Horton Oscar, Robert Loren, Edwin DeForest, Oral Bell, Esther Grace, and 2 infants. Sarah grew to womanhood in the town of her birth. After her marriage to Hamilton, they moved to Peterson, Iowa, where they were pioneer residents. In 1910 they moved to Idaho and in 1914 to Hubbard County, making their home in White Oak township, After her husband's death she made her home with her children. Her funeral was held at the White Oak Baptist church. Rev. Chas. Swindells of Laporte preached the funeral sermon. She was a member or Zenith Rebekah Lodge, and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge at Akeley. She was a member of the White Oak Baptist church.
