Baptismalrecord from St. Stanislaus Church at Duncan, Nebraska Mary Zelazny born 17? November 1884 and baptized 30 November 1884. Father: Matthias Zelazny Mother: Kath. Ligensa. ================= Sherman County Times Loup City Nebraska Friday, April 22, 1921 Fatal Accident With Gasoline - A terrible accident occurred Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Chas. Olsufka farm about ten or twelve miles southwest of Loup City when Mrs. Olsufka was so badly burned in an accident with gasoline that she died twelve hours later. Mrs. Olsufka had cleaned some clothes with gasoline, using a shallow container. Wishing to destroy the waste gasoline she thought she would burn it up. When she set fire to the gasoline her clothes caught on fire and before her little girl succeeded in putting it out, by wrapping her in a lap robe, she was so badly burned that death occurred a few hours later. She was the mother of several children, the youngest a baby about a year old. Mrs. Olsufka was a hard working woman, her chief aim in life being the welfare of her children. It is indeed sad that she should meet with such an untimely and tragic death.
