Bio

Craven Byrd passed away in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana, at the age of 81. He was the son of Martin and Mary Jane (Green) Byrd. He married Pearl Maude VanMeter and she preceded him in death on August 11, 1961. He was a member of the Potato Run Church near Corydon, Indiana His survivors included a son, six daughters and sons-in-law, nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. David Mellor officiated at services held on August 19, 1980 in the McClure Funeral Home, Bruceville, Indiana followed by interment in the Oaktown Cemetery.
