Obituarie Jacksonville Daily Progress Monday, August 27, 2001 Carolyn M. Turner Memorial services for Carolyn M. Turner, 58, of Palestine were Sunday at First Baptist Church of Slocum. The Rev. Todd Chapman officiated. Burial was at Providence Cemetery, Dialville, following a cremation under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory in Palestine. Mrs. Turner died Friday at Spring Season Nursing Center in Elkhart. She was born Feb. 14, 1943, in West Monroe, La., to Hosh Henry and Hazel Martin Beebe Sr. She was raised in Jacksonville and Dialville and had lived in Palestine several years after moving from Oklahoma. She was a Baptist. Her main interests involved her grandchildren, fishing and playing bingo. She is survived by three sons, Randall Fletcher of Rusk, William Fletcher of Elkhart and Clifton Fletcher of Palestine; one daughter, Elizabeth Kelley of Jenks, Okla.; three brothers, Josh Beebe Jr. of Galveston, Huey Beebe of Eagle Point, Ore., and John McCarty of Palestine; four sisters, Bertie Youngblood of Galveston, Shirley Ann Knous of Jacksonville, Ruby Taylor of Dialville and Mary Draper of Galveston; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Slocum.
