~`~ ~* GHS'70 *~ ~`~ Cheryl Lavonne Shoemaker Burgess Hobbs 20 December 1952 - 01 May 2007 ~`~ * ~`~ Cheryl Lavonne Hobbs Cheryl Lavonne (Shoemaker) Hobbs 54, of Pittsburg, KS died Tuesday May 1, 2007 at her home following a short illness. Cheryl was born December 20, 1952 in Baxter Springs, KS the daughter of Delbert Elsworth and Rosie Mae (Pettis) Shoemaker. She came to Pittsburg from Joplin, MO in 1986. Cheryl graduated from Galena High School in 1970. On July 6, 1970 she married Mickey D. Burgess in Joplin, MO; they later divorced. On May 29, 1992 she married Ronald C. Hobbs in Pittsburg, KS; he preceded her in death on April 2, 2000. Cheryl worked for Service Masters Foods at Pittsburg State University for many years. Cheryl was a member of 6th St. Baptist Church in Galena, KS and enjoyed oil paintings, ceramics, and fishing. Survivors include her daughter Sherry Wilson and husband Danny Wilson Jr. of Frontenac, KS; sister Rene' Myers and husband Ronny of Galena, KS; grandchildren Ashley M. Wilson and Jared R. Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Ruby Collins. Memorial Graveside Services will be 5pm Wednesday May 9, 2007 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena, KS with Reverend Howard Whitely officiating. In Lieu of flowers the family wish expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the wishes of the family. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. The Morning Sun Tuesday, May 8, 2007 ~`~ -------- ~`~ ~*~ ~`~ Ronald C. "Zep" Hobbs 03 November 1962 - 02 April 2000 ~`~ * ~`~ Ronald C. 'Zep' Hobbs MULBERRY -- Ronald C. "Zep" Hobbs, 37, of Mulberry, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at the Girard District Hospital after a long illness. He was born Nov. 3, 1962, at Curry County, N.M., to Bill and Lucia Maraventano Hobbs. He was a resident of Mulberry for the past 15 years. He married C.J. Jensvold. They later divorced. Mr. Hobbs later married Peaches. They had a daughter together before divorcing. He then married Cheryl Shoemaker on May 30, 1991, at Pittsburg. She survives of the home. Mr. Hobbs worked for Mid-America Roofing for 14 years. He also was employed by Poly-Tron as a fabricator for four years and Sugar Creek. Additional survivors include a daughter, Rikki Ronshant Hobbs of Fort Smith, Ark.; a step-daughter, Sherry Ann Wilson of Frontenac; father of O'Brien, Ore.; mother of Citrus Heights, Calif.; two half-brothers, Rick Langley and Robbie Langley, both of Sacramento, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. today at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway. Following the services, the body will be taken for cremation.
