obituary, Betty L Dietz 3-5-2004 Betty L Dietz, 79, of Council Bluffs died March 4, at Midlands Living Center. She was born Sept 20, 1924, at Hastings to Jesse and Orpha Marie (Pickerill) Bowen. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1951. She graduated in 1942 from Hastings High School. She was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell, Benos Department Store and for 15 years at UNMC, retiring in 1998. She attended St Patrick's Church. Mrs Dietz and her husband, Chuck, were married Dec 13, 1971. Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, David J Young and wife, Beverly, of Council Bluffs and Jeffrey S Young and wife, Glenda, of Gales Ferry, Conn, four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren; two step=great=great=grandchildren, step-son, Larry C Dietz and wife, Joyce, of Sarasota, Fla, twin sisters, Ellen Jensen and Brooklyn and Laura Williams and husband Stanley, of El Segundo, Calif, brother Eugene Bowen, of Council Bluffs, nieces and nephews. The body has been cremated, no viewing. Memorial service Saturday at 9 am at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev John O Bertogli, pastor of St Patrick's Church officiating. Brunch will be held following the service at St Patrick's Church Hall. Memorials may be offered to St. Patrick's Church. Source was not shown 3=5=2004
