Emily W. Dunker Obituary Emily W. Dunker age 100 of Fremont passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Edgewood Vista in Fremont. Emily was born Jan. 19, 1908 at North Bend, NE to parents: James & Mary (Beranek) Walla. She grew up at North Bend and graduated from North Bend High School in 1924. Emily Walla married Harold W. Dunker on March 18, 1928 at Purple Cane Parsonage, N.W. of North Bend. The couple moved to Omaha and Emily was employed at the Brandies Store. Harold passed away June 14, 1961. She married Alvin Dunker on April 6, 1963 in Omaha. They moved to Tonganoxie, KS in 1963, then to Lansing, KS. Alvin passed away September 25, 1991. Emily then moved to Fremont in 1992. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. Emily was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; brother Willis Walla; and step-daughter Carol Gastl. The funeral will be 11:00 AM, Friday, June 20, 2008 at salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Delvin Hutton and Mrs. Sandy Terry will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8 PM and the family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be 1:15 PM, Friday at Woodland Cemetery at North Bend, NE. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or to the donors favorite charity. Online condolences may be sent to www.mosermemorialchapels.com.
