JACKSON, Minn. — George B. Ruschy, 74, of Jackson, Minn., died on Sunday, May 30, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Jackson. Services were on Wednesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sherburn, Minn., with the Rev. Charles Quinn officiating. Burial was in the St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery at Sherburn. Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ruschy was born on April 22, 1930, in Loup City to John and Magdalene (Silver) Ruschy. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Betty, of Sherburn; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cindy Ruschy of Fridley, Minn., Dale and Deb Ruschy of Fairmont, Minn., and Brian and Yonna Ruschy of rural Sherburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Bill Swanson of rural Alpha, Minn.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and LaVonne Ruschy of Estherville, Iowa, and Bill and Jean Ruschy of Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Clint Grev of Crystal, Minn. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Benjamin Swanson of Pipestone, Minn., Leah Swanson of Mason City, Iowa, John Ruschy of Fridley, Minn., Dalton Ruschy and Darien Ruschy, both of Fairmont, Minn., and Madison Ruschy of rural Sherburn; two brothers-in-law, Duane Morrow of Wrightwood, Calif., and Melvyn Morrow and his wife, Jolene, of Clovis, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Mr. Ruschy attended country school in Nebraska until 1941, when he moved to Minnesota. He graduated from Sherburn High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and then farmed. On Sept. 3, 1955, he married Betty Morrow in Fairmont, Minn. They farmed until 1991 and moved into Sherburn, Minn., in 1999. George moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Jackson in 2001.
