Bio

Glenn A. Slavik, 55, 100 Independence Avenue, Bismarck, North Dakota, died Thursday, December 6, 1984 at Medcenter One. He was born January 4, 1929, in Montgomery, Minnesota, the son of Thomas and Helen Janovsky Slavik.  He attended school in Montgomery and in 1948 he moved to Cooperstown, North Dakota where he was employed by the First State Bank as assistant cashier. Glenn served in the Korean War from 1951-1953.  Following his discharge, he returned to Cooperstown and married Phyllis Topp on July 10, 1955, in Juanita, North Dakota. He worked at the First State Bank at Cooperstown until 1963 where he went to work for Melroe-Clark in Cooperstown as comptroller until 1978.  He was transferred to Bismarck in 1978.  In 1980, they moved to new Rockford, North Dakota where he was office manager for the new Rockford Hospital until 1982.  They returned to Bismarck in 1982 where he was employed by Tri-State Welding as an accountant until his death. He is survived by his wife; two sons and two daughters, Robin, Fargo; Ricky, Tammy and Penny, all Bismarck; and four sisters, Phyllis Spencer, Mrs. Stanley (Delores) Fierst and LaVonne Odenthal, all Minneapolis, Minnesota and Mrs. Loren (Darlene) Wendt, Bloomington, Minnesota.  Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arnold and Harold. Honorary Casketbearers:    Maurice Wathne, Aldo Iverson, Alan Engen, Roland Grosz, Herman Grosz, and Merland Carlson. Casketbearers            Chad Griffey, Jeff Wendt, David Fierst, Jeff Topp, Gary Spencer, Roger Fierst Interment    Burial will be in the Spring at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck, North Dakota
