He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post # 3 Survivors include his Wife—Magdalen "Madge" Franseen; Daughters: Mary Claire (Tom) Baker of Omaha, Diane (Mick) Horak and Kathleen (Dave) Frisbie both of Lincoln; Sons—James Jr. (Mary), Timothy both of Lincoln, and John of Hastings, NE; 15 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; Brothers—Edward Jr., Carol (Linda), Paul (Donna), Roland (Sharon) Jake (Carol), Dan (Ruthie), and Tom; Sisters—Marceline (Ray) Innes of Olsburg, Kansas, Carolyn (Wayne) Bohy, Mary Frances (Art) Christiansen, and Bernadette Thiel, Geraldine (Leo) Cook, and Sue (Ron) Prinslow; Sisters-in-law—Arlene Franssen and Erma (Franssen) Morissette and many Nieces & Nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents Edward Sr. & Frances, a son Lonnie, and brothers Gerald & Robert.
