Dorothy Lou Witcher (1923 - 2011) Dorothy Lou Witcher, 87, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: Donations may be made in Dorothy's name to Pleasant Hills Children's Home in care of Living Water Church, 109 S. Roberts Cut Off Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76114, or Christ Church Assembly of God, 5301 Alta Mesa Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas 76123. Dorothy Lou was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Newark. She graduated from North Side High School class of 1941. Dorothy Lou was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in River Oaks. She loved to travel, but mostly loved being a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Letcher and Minnie Yant; her husband, Hugh Witcher; and her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jim Summers. The family would like to send a special thank you-to Fireside Lodge and Grace Hospice for the loving care they provided. Survivors: Daughters, Carolyn Fain and Janis Putnam and her husband, Randy; grandchildren, Carissa Kratz and husband, Dan, and Natalie Meek and husband, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Rowan, Grace, Caroline and Chase Kratz and Connor, Isabella and Lyla Meek; brother, Billy Yant and wife, Barbara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
