Wanda Lanell Chapman Derby, 81, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in San Angelo. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Tommy King officiating. Arrangements were by Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo. Wanda was born July 21, 1929 in Klondike, Texas to Howard and Edna Mae (Turnbow) Chapman. Wanda was married to the love of her life, Bud Frank Derby, on June 21, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas. One special memory Wanda talked about was the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Wanda was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. She loved reading her bible and especially loved Psalm 23. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard (Junior) Chapman; and sisters, LaVergne Houpt and Joan Chapman. Survivors include her husband, Frank Derby; daughters, Pamela Ann Derby of San Angelo and Diana Derby Reed and husband, Robert, of Dublin; granddaughters, Amanda Lockhart and husband, Andrew, and their son, Raistlin, of Galveston and Meghan Burcie and husband, Jarrad, and their son, Blake, of Granbury; sisters, Opal Hudson, Helen Nance and husband, Raymond, Beverly Cortese and husband, Frank, and Sharon Eubanks and husband, Lloyd; brothers Leroy (Sonny) Chapman and wife, Wanda, Johnny Chapman and wife, Elsie, Billy Chapman and wife, Nadine, and Jerry Chapman and wife, June; sister-in-law, Violet Kinyon; brother-in-law, Ralph Derby; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
