Services for LeRoy Breitkreutz age 73 of Crete, NE will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church in Crete, NE with Interment on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Wisner, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, NE. LeRoy was born on April 21, 1938 in Wisner, Nebraska to Harvey and Veronica Breitkreutz. He passed away on May 1, 2011 at his home in Crete, Nebraska. LeRoy graduated from the Wisner High School in 1956 and received his Bachelor degree from Wayne State College in 1973. He married Sandra Jones in San Francisco, California in 1963 while he was serving in the United States Army. To this union was born Leah, Jennifer and Audrey. LeRoy and Sandra owned and operated the Pleasant Hill Tavern near Dorchester, Nebraska for about 8 years. He started working in the maintenance department at Doane College in Crete in 1984 and never did retire. LeRoy enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, history, politics and firearms. LeRoy's beloved wife, Sandra passed away on January 15, 2005. LeRoy and Sidonia Caha became friends in the summer of 2008 and fell in love and were married on October 23, 2010. They both felt blessed to have this second chance at love and happiness, and Sidonia was a great suppport during LeRoy's recent hip replacement surgery and heart problems. LeRoy is survived by his wife, Sidonia, his daughters, Leah and husband, Greg Johnson of Loveland, Colorado, Jennifer and husband, Dave Griffis of Anaconda, Montana and Audrey and husband, Keith Minahan of Crete, Nebraska; brother, Duane, sisters, Reta Clark, Ethel Colsden, Betty Priest, Evelyn Smith and Sharon Lehman, and grandchildren, Alex Mason and Sarah and William Griffis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Al and Roland, and sister, Violet Thompson.
