Burgess, 71, West Plains, will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2011 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Burgess died 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at his home. He was born April 27, 1939 at Pomona, Missouri to Letcher and Hazel Dollins Burgess. He received his education in the schools of West Plains, Missouri and on June 25, 1960 was married at West Plains, Missouri to Margaret Louise Foth who preceded him in death on March 21, 2001. Before his retirement, Mr. Burgess was known as an honest car dealer. He loved fishing and the outdoors; a loved that he passed on to his children and grandchildren, whom he enjoyed spending time with. Mr. Burgess was a Christian. He is survived by two children, Melinda King, husband, Joe, West Plains and Bruce Burgess, Alton, Missouri; five grandchildren, Samantha (Bales) Kelso and special friend, Matt Sabbath, Kyle King, fiancee, Halli Turner, Dusty King, David Morrison and Family and Ashley Kemper, husband, Justin; three great-grandchildren, Xavier Kelso, Leyton Kelso and Natalie Kemper; three brothers, Darrell Burgess, James Burgess, wife, Dottie and Tommy Burgess, wife, Loretta; two sisters, Louise Meyers and Mildred Wood, husband, Raymond; one brother-in-law, Roy McAnally; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Burgess, Wanda Burgess and Joan Burgess; several nieces and nephews; and the second love of his life, Patsy Maturin of West Plains and her children, Thomas Frederick, wife, Christine and children, Austin, Samara, and Terrence, Dewana Hawkins, husband, Randy and children, Raelyn and Ethan and Devlin Fredrick, wife, Ashley. His parents, wife, one infant brother, three brothers, Roy, Charles and Dean Burgess, one sister, May McAnally, his parents-in-law and one brother-in-law, precede him in death. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
