Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - March 23, 1994 Deceased Name: Benner Jackson Carling Benner Jackson Carling, 83, died March 21, 1994 at his home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was born November 3, 1910 in Fillmore, Utah to George and Caroline Jackson Carling. He married Olga Edwards on September 19, 1934 and were later sealed November 21, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He held the office of High Priest in the Pleasant Grove Ninth Ward. He graduated from Millard High School and attended BYU. He enjoyed fishing with his family, hunting with his sons and grandsons and enjoyed viewing all sports. He was a Cougar Blue fan to the end. He and Olga danced many a night away until his health deteriorated. He retired in 1975 after working as a welder and pipefitter. Watch, listen and dance with us Dad!. He is survived by his wife, seven children; DeLyle (Shanon) Carling, Meadow, Utah; Gordon Carling, Pleasant Grove; Patricia Jo (Lauren) Pettis, Stockton, California; Joel Carling, Vista, California; Gloria (Jon) Goss, Pleasant Grove; Kirk (Julie) Carling, American Fork; Sherry (Glenn) Smith, Pleasant Grove; 32 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are Thursday, March 24, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Ninth Ward Chapel at 445 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Friends may call Wednesday March 23, 1994 from 6-8 p.m. at the Olpin Family Mortuary at 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and one hour prior to services at the Ninth Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Fillmore City Cemetery.
