Bio

FLANERY, MR. WILLIAM B. "SONNY" was born August 13, 1911 in Celina, Texas, the son of Harris W. and Betty Guinn Flanery. W. B. (Sonny) Flanery attended school at Weston, Alla, and graduated from Draughon's Business College in Dallas. He was married to Paige Ashinhurst of Sherman on December 25, 1936, in McKinney. They were parents of one son, William Patrick, born January 1946 and deceased June 1946. Sonny was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years in 1992. Sonny worked as a manufacturer's representative for Flanery Sales, the company he and his brother, Byron "Pete", organized in 1946. After retiring in 1965, he was the Co-Founder of Colledge Mound Water Supply in Terrell, Texas. Mr. And Mrs. Flanery lived in Dallas, Terrell and Sherman. His last years have been in Assisted Living at the Celina Nursing Home. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Celina. He is survived by one brother, Byron "Pete" Flanery and wife Thelda of Kaufman, Texas, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, many great-grand nieces and nephews and one great- great-great nephew. He is preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, March 11, 2005 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina, Texas with Reverend Bob Layman officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00, Friday March 11, 2005 prior to the funeral service.
